A new PayPal survey polled current and aspiring female entrepreneurs in the United States, China, France and Mexico to determine what motivated them to start their own businesses. Varying results from these different countries offer some fascinating insights.
For example, 55 percent of American women started their own businesses to achieve work-life balance, while 48 percent of Chinese respondents become entrepreneurs to control their own futures. In France (61 percent) and Mexico (66 percent), a majority of women started businesses to strengthen self-pride.
